RADIUM is a modern radio communication platform and serves as the basis for a wide variety of device variants. In the version for voice communication as an analogue or DMR Tier III radio, a connection via Bluetooth and WLAN is optionally available. The connection makes it possible to flexibly connect mobile phones (Android and iOS) to a DMR radio network. It is also possible to connect to a vehicle's hands-free system in order to meet current legal requirements. With an optional DECT connection, accessibility outside the vehicle can also be ensured.

As a DMR Tier III terminal, RADIUM can also be used as a radio data modem for telecontrol. Special data reduction processes allow very efficient transmission of the telecontrol protocols IEC 60870-5-101 and IEC 60870-5-104. For IT security reasons, the methods AES128 and AES256 for symmetrical encryption recommended by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) are supported.
The RADIUM radios are available in the usual PMR frequency ranges (68 - 88 MHz, 146 - 174 MHz and 400 - 470 MHz).
The RADIUM mobile radio device is suitable for use in a wide variety of applications and environments thanks to its various variants and options. The version with protection class IP20 is intended for use as a vehicle radio in general applications. The variant with protection class IP65 device is ideal for use underground in mine radio, for example. Finally, the PT variant has been specially tailored for applications in public transport vehicles (PT = Public Transportation). Depending on the respective variant, the RADIUM radio device can be equipped with different accessories. For example, there are no plans to deliver the PT version with a HA87 handset.
The configuration is carried out using a web interface, which is provided by the integrated web server. This eliminates the need to install dedicated service software on the service technicians' computers.
The compact design allows space-saving mounting on top-hat rails, mounting plates and in 19" frames.
